We are very pleased to announce that it is now possible to create a poll in Vanilla Forums. This is just the first in a series of new posting abilities we are adding to Vanilla over the coming months.

To turn on polls, simply enable the Polls addon in your Dashboard. This will add a 'New Poll' button in the side bar that will let you create a poll discussion:

Polls can be set as public or anonymous.

A public poll will show the participant's avatars below each bar, and there is also a mention of what each user voted for on their comments in public polls.

Keep in mind that a poll cannot be edited once created. This feature is available on all of our hosted plans.

Read/Unread Formatting

Most of this release was dedicated to over 200 bug fixes and minor usability enhancements. The most noticeable change is how read discussions are displayed. It is now much easier to distinguish discussions that are brand new from those that have been read but have new comments.
