[Product] How To Embed A Forum On Your Website
Enable Embedding for Your Forum
Now that you have the Embed theme ready, the next step is to make your forum embeddable. To allow your forum to be embedded, go to the Forum menu section of your Vanilla Forums dashboard and look for “Embed Forum”. Click the “Enable Embedding” button as shown in the following graphic.
Your site is now ready to be embedded on your site; you will also have some options that you may wish to review first. Let’s cover these options for Forum Embed.
Options for Forum Embed
Once you have enabled embedding, you will be presented with three tabs.
- WordPress Plugin: Vanilla Forums has a plugin which makes it easy to add a forum to your blog. You can integrate your forums commenting system, but you can also embed a forum onto any page of your WordPress blog. Get the plugin here.
- Universal Code: This is the Javascript you can add to any website or page to have your Vanilla Forum embedded.
- Advance Settings: This allows you to white-list only the domains that are allowed to embed elements of your community.
Tips With Forum Embed
If you have issues with embedding your forum, make sure that the page in which you embed is free of JavaScript errors. Usually we find when there are issues, this is the root cause. If you are looking to add SSO to your embedded forum, check out: Embedded SSO with jsConnect.
