At Super Forum today we officially launched a major overhaul to Vanilla Analytics. When starting out this project we had a few goals:
Give our customers the power to visualize all their Vanilla data in the way that makes the most sense to their community and use case
Allow Vanilla community admins to understand community trends and behaviors to make decisions, take action and drive new initiatives
Enable our customers to track their community goals over time, ultimately enabling stakeholders across the organization to tell their community story in the broader context of their strategy
We’re happy to announce that the improvements to analytics launched today, and the additional functionality that we will be releasing in the coming months will help our customers achieve all this and more.
Demonstrated at Super Forum today were the following key enhancements:
A brand-new analytics look, feel and experience
The new analytics experience includes major updates to the look and feel and improvements to the overall usability. Updates to text, colors, navigation and layouts mean that analytics will be easier to use and a more seamless part of your daily workflow.
A custom dashboard builder and chart editor
We’ve made available all the data that matters to your community. With this, you can create your own custom reports based on a wide variety of community fields and flags right within Vanilla. For example, each department or stakeholder (i.e., Product vs. Support vs. CX) can have their own custom dashboard with metrics that track against their specific community goals and ROI.
New Ideation dashboard & new out of the box charts added to existing dashboards
All the existing dashboards that you know and love have been replicated in the new analytics experience PLUS we‘ve added a brand-new ideation dashboard to show everything you need to know about who’s contributing ideas, when ideas are added and what the top ideas are.
We’ve also taken this as an opportunity to add a handful of new charts to the existing dashboards to help you analyze more of your community data right in Vanilla. A few examples of new charts to look forward to include:
Community traffic dashboards to understand how many users acquired within a timeframe, most viewed pages by URL and page view comparisons per sub-community
Engagement data to help understand how members are reacting to community content
Q&A stats broken down by roles so can see which groups are driving the community support strategy
This is just scratching the surface! Stay tuned to your Vanilla Labs page starting on November 2nd when we start to rollout this new functionality to your staging sites. While this is still in BETA, we want your feedback! Please head to the Vanilla Success Community to submit any new ideas or feedback you may have as you start to use it.
And of course, we have a ton more features coming – in case you missed the session at Super Forum, you still have time to register and find out what will be added to Winter 2021 analytics roadmap. The session recordings will be available to registrants once they’re ready!
