Split And Merge: How To Move Comments

After you have selected both discussions, you will get a notification in the lower left (also known as a growl). It looks like the following:


If you select “move”, you now have the option to place both discussions in a new category from the pop-up that will appear.


If you select merge, you will see the following pop-up which will combine both discussions into one:


Splitting A Discussion

Sometimes, as  moderator, you may come across a discussion which may be better off as it’s own unique discussion thread. If you run into this scenario, you can use the split function. To use it, select the specific comment(s) you wish to split:


Once again you will get a  small notification in the lower left, that looks like the following:


Once you click split, you will be given the option in a pop-up to create a new discussion:


Now you can create a new discussion with a new topic title from the split comment. This allows the original discussion thread to stay on topic.
