5 Customers Extending Vanilla to New Heights!

Sometimes within a company you have these really great examples of how people are using your product, and somehow you only share it amongst yourselves. Sales people know the examples to share with prospects and our SuccessTeam™ who helped extend Vanilla certainly know them as well. However, somewhere along the line, we forget to show people publicly how our customers extend our platform. Well guess what?! Today we change that by sharing 5 customers extending the Vanilla platform. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but a nice way to get your own creativity going.

1. Community Tour


Walkme is a software-as-a-service company that helps users navigate the features of other web-based services. They integrated their product into ours, so that they made it even easier for their community to get started. They are not the only ones to go beyond the out of the box Vanilla Forums product tour, but certainly they've created one that is quite extensive considering it's also a showcase for their product.

2. Community Assessments 


Qualtrics.com is a leading Experience Management Platform. They have integrated many of their tools to survey, score and measure how the community experience is for their customers. They also have a real cool community assistant tool, to help answer questions. Certainly any Qualtrics customer could do he same.

3. Search API to locate similar ideas


OnShape is a revolutionary design software delivered over the Internet via a Software as a Service model. One of the many things they do well is listen to their customers for ideas. In creating a product feedback section, they used our Search API to identify similar ideas before the discussion was created, so people in the community could vote on those existing ideas.

4. Federated Search



Promethean World is a world leader in global education technologies company. With so many products, it’s important people can find the information they need. Using our Search API, they were able to integrate our content into their support portal so searchers not only find articles, documents, or downloads, but also conversations in the community related to their search.

5. Integrated into a Mobile App


As people spend more and more time on their mobile devices, it’s important to be where they are. Our customer MyFitnessPal has integrated our forums into their mobile app. Using the webview wrapper, and our included mobile ready theme, they’ve made their community accessible from any device. Don’t fret if you don’t have an app, our community just works out of the box for any mobile device. We want to help you be where your community wants to be and the device they consume your content.

So there you have it! Five customers who have extended Vanilla Forums above and beyond. It’s certainly not an exhaustive list, but we wanted to get your creative mind going. As we expand our API v2 more and more, we can’t wait to share even more amazing examples.
